Plein Air Quick Draw at Historic Park-McCullough

Historic Park-McCullough is once again the setting for the Quick Draw event of the 2011 North Bennington Plein Air Painting Competition. The Quick Draw is a compelling and exciting event as professional artists, amateurs, students and those seeking a unique challenge gather to begin and complete a plein air painting in two hours. Painting begins at 1:30pm and ends promptly at 3:30 pm. Exhibit of the paintings begins immediately afterward. Awards presented at 5:00pm. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Finished works will be judged by Barbara Sussman of Hoosick Falls, NY. Registered artists will have two hours to paint scenes that can be viewed while on Park McCullough property. Prizes awarded are: 1st place - $300, 2nd place - $200, 3rd place - $150 and Peoples Choice - $100 gift certificate for art supplies from Jack Richeson and Co., Inc.

Registration, accompanied by a $10.00 registration fee, is required. The rules of the Quick-Draw event and registration forms can be found at www.pleinair-northbennington.com. Artists may also register the morning of the event in the Visitors Center at the North Bennington Train Station, or from noon to 1:00 PM at the Carriage Barn at Park-McCullough. After prizes are awarded, all Quick-Draw art will be on display and for sale, along with the works of the invited 2011 NBPAC artists  from 7:00-9:00 PM, in the Media Barn Studio at Taraden B&B, 183 Park Street, North Bennington.
