History & Heritage Lunch
#1 of 4 monthly gatherings
12:00 - 1:00 PM
Enjoy a light lunch, refreshments, and an introduction to a new topic within this year’s special exhibition theme: the women of the house and the community, and the history and heritage of handwork (think needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, mending, quilting, sewing, and other arts and tasks).
This luncheon will concentrate on the historical significance of the Knitting Brigades of World War I. Come ready to learn about how women's knitting supported the war effort from the home front. Please feel free to bring your own stories and experiences to share with the group, as there will be time allowed for participation and exchange.
Our History & Heritage Lunches are offered free of charge. LOCATION: Carriage Barn, on the Park-McCullough grounds. RSVPs required by Monday, June 15, 4 PM.
