History & Heritage Lunch
#3 of 4 monthly gatherings
12:00 - 1:00 PM
Enjoy a light lunch, refreshments, and an introduction into a new topic within this year’s special exhibition theme: the women of the house and the community and the history and heritage of handwork (think needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, mending, quilting, sewing, and other arts and tasks).
This luncheon will focus on the critically acclaimed book With Her Own Hands: Women Weaving Their Stories by Nicole Nehrig. Enjoy conversation around the themes present in the book that relate to the 2026 season's special exhibition "The Stitches Between Us: Women's Handwork and Our Shared Stories" such as the use of handwork for self-expression and financial autonomy. Attendees need not have read the book to participate; bring your own stories and experiences to share with the group! (The book is available for purchase in Park-McCullough's museum shop, through The Bennington Bookshop, your local library, and now on audio book.)
Our History & Heritage Lunches are offered free of charge. Location: Carriage Barn at Park-McCullough. Free parking. RSVPs required by August 17, 4 PM.
