History & Heritage Lunch

#4 of 4 monthly gatherings
12:00 - 2:00 PM

Enjoy a light lunch, refreshments, and further discussion on this year’s special exhibition theme: the women of the house and the community, and the history and heritage of handwork (think needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, mending, quilting, sewing, and other arts and tasks).

The last in the series, this month's topic is a deeper dive into the women of the Park-McCullough house themselves: residents, staff, and the community stewards who have been shepherding the organization ever since. Their contributions of handwork—whether paid, for leisure, or as a byproduct of community life—are on display throughout the museum. As a special add-on to the culmination of the History & Heritage Lunch series, an after-lunch tour highlighting the handwork collection will be offered by Park-McCullough staff and volunteers.

The Park-McCullough would like to thank the students, faculty member Tilly Grimes, and teaching assistant Cianna Lee, for their great efforts in curating, researching, and designing the 2026 special exhibit "The Stitches Between Us: Women's Handwork and Our Shared Stories."

Our History & Heritage Lunches are offered free of charge. Location: Carriage Barn, and the Park-McCullough, Historic Governor's Mansion. Free parking. RSVPs required by September 14, 4 PM. RSVP through Eventbrite by clicking the link below.
