The Mary Feidner Historic Scholarship Program was established to assist Bennington area students who plan to attend college, focusing on history, government, education, or architecture studies. Scholarships are available to students who are enrolled full-time or part-time at an accredited institution. Students will receive a $1000 award from Park McCullough for their education.
The scholarship is awarded based on a statement of goals and aspirations, academic records, participation in school and community activities, work experience, and interest in history, government, education, or architecture. Students must also provide a 3-5 page essay on the family’s mansion, lifestyle, business ventures, philanthropic contributions, politics, etc. Creativity is encouraged.
The essay must be original, written in acceptable English, typed, and double-spaced. A Work Cited page or Bibliography should be included. The quality of resources used will be a factor in the selection process. Applications and essays must be submitted by May 1st annually.
Announcement of the award will be given directly to the student by email and award ceremony at the student’s high school. An article will also appear in the local newspaper, Park McCullough’s website, and social media platforms.
Established in 2019, the Mary Feidner Scholarship is a competitive annual award for students in Bennington County, Hoosick Falls, NY, and Williamstown, MA
